Microchips are a permanent way to identify a pet and are a key element in reuniting a lost pet with their family. Microchips can reunite families long after a collar or tag may fall off or be removed – sometimes reuniting missing pets years later and several states away. The Galveston County Animal Resource Center offers microchipping daily during their regular business hours.
The registration fee is $20, which includes micro-chipping and is good for the lifetime of your pet. If you are 65 years of age or older, the registration fee is $15. You must bring your pet and current rabies vaccine certificate to the Animal Resource Center.
You will be provided with a registration certificate that you will need to keep, as it will be your proof of county registration.
