To support community development, activities are identified through an ongoing process. Activities may address needs such as infrastructure, economic development projects, public facilities installation, community centers, housing rehabilitation, public services, clearance/acquisition, microenterprise assistance, homeowner assistance, etc.

Some of the services that Community Development provides includes, but is not limited to:

• Demolition of Substandard Structures
• Emergency Rental Assistance
• Fair Housing Administration
• Homebuyer Assistance
• Housing Rehabilitation/Reconstruction Program
• Neighborhood Clean-Up Program/Keep Texas City Beautiful

There are a few requirements that must be met for each program, and in most cases, there is a waiting list. However, the Community Development Department is here to help you create safe, clean, and attractive neighborhoods that you can be proud to live in.
