The City of Texas City will be expanding the Sanders-Vincent and Carver Community Centers to include a recreation area for youth ages 13-19 that will also double as a temporary disaster shelter.

The project will be funded with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program (CDBG) and Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program (CDBG-MIT) allocated by the Texas General Land Office (GLO).
