
Low- and moderate-income families who are eligible for first-time home buyer assistance can receive up to $7,500 to assist with up to half of the down payment and eligible closing costs towards the purchase of their new home.
Only Texas City residents are eligible for assistance, and you must have been a Texas City resident for the past 12 months. Proof of residency is required.
Completion of a HUD-approved Housing Counseling Course is required.
Income Limits & Verification
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has provided a table that establishes an applicant's eligibility for First Time Home Buyer's Assistance. This table is based on maximum gross income and size.
This program is funded by the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program (CDBG).
