Fire Marshal

The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for inspections, permitting, and reviewing plans on any new construction, existing buildings, and structures. Additions or alterations to any building or structure shall comply with the requirements of the code for new construction. Additions or alterations shall not be made to an existing building or structure that will cause the existing building or structure to be in violation of any provisions of the Texas City Fire code IFC 2015 and IBC 2015 and all amendments and codes. The Fire Prevention Bureau is also an information source for fire protection systems that have been installed and now must be maintained.

The Texas City Fire Prevention Bureau is also a law enforcement entity within the Fire Department which is responsible for arson investigations, Juvenile Firesetters Program, and code enforcement.
